The Redding Vipers Baseball Club promotes a program of athletics that encourages further development of young men both on and off the field of play. Sportsmanship, integrity, work ethic, and personal sacrifice for others are the fundamental factors of our program. We as coaches, parents, participants and fans, are expected to be aware of the influence our behavior has on others. We have an ability to influence those around us using our individual strengths and styles of leadership.
We have a responsibility to represent and uphold integrity, fair play, and proper sportsmanship during all types of athletic and extra-curricular competition. We strive to teach athletes; the fundamentals of sport and character; the importance of modeling successful behavior; how to respect those we root for and those we play against; how to create a productively positive environment in the dugout and in the stands; the importance of working through adversity; to respect the game and teammates in all we do on and off the field of play.
We learn a lesson from every occurrence on the field and apply the knowledge to the next opportunity. We have no time to dwell on the past and will not tolerate an attitude of defeat. If we miss a pitch, or opportunity in the field, we will productively adjust for the next situation. We will play this game to have fun and make an effort to do our best during every pitch – one pitch at a time.
